- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I went to Daytona beach last week with 3 wheelchair bound friends. Their wheelchairs worked out very well on the packed sand. We then tried to access Atlantic Ave to purchase lunch. All the wheelchair ramps were packed with over a foot of sand and not accessible. We tried several ramps near the banshell and none were accessible for us. This is a violation of the Persons with Disability Act for access to all public property. I was disappointed in the city of Daytona that this was not a high standard to uphold as so many people vacation here. It is a shame that these ramps are not maintained, as for some it is a matter of great importance.By Tammy Stanford, April 15, 2017
